Se la raconter

...means "acting up" in french. i like this expression. anyway, to "me la raconter" a lil' here, go check the following – way too long – interview with PYRO on our favorite monster-blog, maintained by julie machin! She's a friend of the carnet family (which might seem smaller than it really is) who's organising events, writing articles and blogs, or sometimes just hustling to stay alive. LOVE!

which shouldn't mean that the guys from the japanese fixed gear blogpedalmafia are toys, but that we want to show you their answer to the finger skateboards that appeared a few years ago! the complete bikes plus mini aerospokes, chains, rims are available on our favorite bike parts shop wheelandsprocket.com.

coffee vs. uludag

the charming detail is that the kebab is located just face to face to the coffee shop.

mop vs laws

i had a dream (1975)

downtown swinga (1996)

must be one year ago that a friend of mine sold me an old groovy vinyl i really adore: hubert laws chicago theme has some incredible flute solos trilling over solid funky beats!
then, some weeks ago, i bumped into premiers reprise of my favorite song on the lp: i had a dream with a tight clavinette-riff, arranged by the great bob james!

(yes, it really this the original cover!)
no joke, this song reminds me of falling in love for one of the first times in the mid-nineties! how cute! i still kind of like the drums and of course the energetic end-part starting around 2:30!
listen here, watch here, fall in love! haha! and also check out the remix by dave implex. defenitely updated, but the skip the first 3minutes.

your voice counts!

as i learned and – unfortunately – experienced today is as horrifying as the guy that opens lift doors in the haunted house in europa-park:
ikea left their futura and their century schoolbook for VERDANA!
but democratic internet wouldn't be democratic if their wouldn't be a community fighting against the misused and abused system and SCREEN font. on this page, you can go, copy and then tell your personal view to ikea directly!
the revolution will be googlized!
Thank you ikea, for still believing in the value of good design and for listening to us

i loved them. and sometimes still do. check THIS ONE here!
web-research result: a society selling you flash intros matching to your company's needs! brriiilliant!
my favs:

compactism

found this in the cellar and immediately tried it out!
hard to handle, but way better than those childish foldable scooters anywhere here! researching 2mins on the web i found a recall for bikes of this type without frames! DANGER!

sir eat-a-lot

full-length clip here!

99 cents vs. giant butt

the kids meal commercial for a big american fast food company that recruted mr sir mix-a-lot to remix his 90ies booty-bass banger "baby got back" into a spongebob version. and even if they're rapping about spongebob's butt, people discuss about the abuse of selling burgers to kids through sexism! damn, america, you're so right!
(by-the way, i think their target group doesn't really remember the 90ies...)

visionaries vs. visionaries

by chance, i recently met a friend of mine with whom i kind of lost contact a few years ago. the first thing he said after "hi" was "i got something for you right here..!". strange. he rummaged around in his backpack and passed me an old cd i bought about 3 years ago when i met him at a visionaries concert. he basically should have kept it in his pack during the concert to hand it to me afterwards, but we both forgot it back then...
damn, the backback era was cool! and you can store things in there for 3 years or more!
you never know who you could cross today!
thanks furrer!
